Every challenge brings new opportunities for Rofhiwa Tshikovhi – newly appointed GM of Sales

2007/07/06

Rofhiwa Tshikovhi was born to sell, and his passion in this field is the key to his success.  Newly appointed to head up the Sales Division at Europ Assistance SA, a subsidiary of Europ Assistance Worldwide, his strength lies not only in being able to identify problems or even solutions, but to see challenges. As a result of this strength, each challenge evolves into an opportunity, and it is this dynamic that he wants to instil in his sales team at Europ Assistance SA.

“It is when opportunities present themselves that I feel alive,” says Rofhiwa, “I have a need to explore these opportunities and to make the most of them. I also like to see the best brought out of people and to use their individual skills and strengths to their own advantage as well as to the advantage of the company.” This seemingly quiet individual becomes dynamically energised when talking about the challenges he faces within Europ Assistance Worldwide and closer to home at Europ Assistance SA.

“One of the biggest challenges in EA Worldwide is to position ourselves to tap into the un-serviced markets. EA is well-known and respected in the mature market, but it is time to move into those segments of business that present further opportunities such as China and Brazil where we have started to make inroads,” says Rofhiwa.

At a South African level, the government market is a door that Rofhiwa would like to see unlocked, as well as the burgeoning Internet market where usage in South Africa has increased by almost 3 percent in the last three years.

“Here we need to tailor-make the resources we need to address and service this market,” he adds ”at all levels, national, provincial, local and even into state-owned enterprises.” Rofhiwa sees EASA as having the most comprehensive product offering coupled with the technical capabilities to manage any emergency situation.

Rofhiwa brings a fresh approach to EASA and the contact centre industry and brings with him knowledge from the telecoms industry as well as fulfilling an executive role in a leading blue chip company where he was responsible for sales and distribution.

He embarked on his professional career in sales and marketing after graduating from the University of the Western Cape with an honours degree in Bcom Marketing and his career track record is testament of not only his passion for products, but for people. In an environment where people are key to the success of your business, Rofhiwa Tshikovhi is not only our General Manager of Sales, but a veritable source of knowledge and energy.
